Together with our outdoor partner ZIP Team, we organizing three different group challenges on Karlsruhe's Rhine riverbank. If you select this activity, you need to be able to swim! This group challenge is limited to 100 people. We will travel by tram to the river Rhine (Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört). With its 12 varied courses, the Waldseilpark Karlsruhe offers the perfect adventure in the middle of a lot of greenery! The Waldseilpark Karlsruhe is officially part of the "Naturpark Schwarzwald Mitte/Nord" - the largest area of its kind in Germany.
More than 100 climbing stations are built into the forest at a height of up to 16 meters above the ground. Whether family outing or adrenaline junkie: A visit is worthwhile in all cases!
Karlsruhe is just north of the famous Black Forest, Germany. Deep green forests, rushing waterfalls, bizarre rock structure - the Black Forest offers a lot to see and is worth a visit also before or after the conference. If you choose this activity, you will be enjoying a hike on top of the "Teufelsmühle", a small mountain close to Karlsruhe. The hike will be approx. 7 km long with an elevation gain of around 500 m in around 3h (route). At the top, we will be picked up by a bus to get back to Karlsruhe in time for the conference dinner. Because of time constraints the bus will drive you directly to the location of the conference dinner.
Hoepfner has been brewing beer in Baden since 1798. The brewery is located in Karlsuhe inside the historic "hoepfner castle". Here, you can experience the way of traditional beer brewing and try one or two beer types.
Note: Please note that no alcoholic beverages are served to people under the age of 16.
We ask for your understanding that due to the structural conditions of the production areas, we unfortunately cannot currently allow people with walking disabilities or wheelchairs to participate in the brewery tour.
One last tip: We definitely recommend taking a jacket or sweater and sturdy shoes with you on the tour, as there are large temperature differences in the individual production areas.

With its nine universities as well as the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, at the same time the largest German research institution and the largest employer in the city, the "fan city" enjoys a worldwide reputation. The roots for the reputation as an innovation city date back to the Baroque era: As Karlsruhe in the 18th century. century as a planned city, this was a real novelty! Karlsruhe has preserved this pioneering spirit over the centuries to this day.
You start your tour at the magnificent castle. Here you will learn how Margrave Karl Friedrich and his wife Karoline Luise used to surround themselves with numerous scholars to satisfy their irrepressible thirst for knowledge.
The ZKM is a house of all media and genres, a house of both spatial arts such as painting, photography and sculpture and time-based arts such as film, video, media art, music, dance, theater and performance. ZKM was founded in 1989 with the mission of continuing the classical arts into the digital age. Also, the conference dinner will be held there afterwards.
The gala dinner will start at 18:30 on Monday, September 9 at ZKM | center for art and media. The venue is easily reachable by public transport (tram 2, stop: ZKM).
